Congo Democratic Republic new 500-, 1,000-, and 5,000-franc notes reported for August 2018 introduction

According to a press release dated 30 June 2018, in an effort to combat counterfeiting, the Banque Centrale du Congo intends to introduce new 500-, 1,000-, and 5,000-franc notes in August 2018, with larger denominations to follow in 2019. Existing notes will continue to circulate in parallel.
